33 Weeks

"This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood."

All my bags are packed...

...and I'm ready to go. Not really though! It is finally official. We are moving, and have been packing the last few days. Michael is heading out tomorrow with a Uhaul, and I am flying out on Saturday so that I can spend a little more time with my family. Friday night we ate some BBQ with friends and said some goodbyes. I have not lost it yet, but I know it will come. Those tears are just waiting to be shed. I am excited about our new big adventure, but sad to leave what we have here- such great friends and community and of course our amazing families. We will miss you and expect all of you to visit- seriously! It is a great vacation spot! :-)

A Weekend of Parties!

Kids parties, that is! My husband was a trooper hanging out with lots of kidos this weekend! Friday night we went to dinner with a friend of his from Texarakana and his wife and kids. His poor wife did not get to eat a bite of dinner as their 4 month old was a bit tired and could not be comforted! "Michael are you ready for this?" :-) Saturday we went to Jenna's Elmo party. I used to take care of Jenna. Elmo was a bit, hmmmmmm.... lets say creepy! My niece Kylie loved him, but it took the other kids some time to warm up to him. The adults were laughing at him, maybe a little too loud! Fun times! Happy Birthday Jenna! We love you sweet girl! On Sunday, we went to Maya's birthday party, our niece. It was some great family time! I can't believe she is one! Love you doodle bug! Here are some pics...

32 Weeks

This week...

"By now, your baby is just shy of 4 pounds and is nearly 17 inches long, taking up a lot of space in your uterus. You're gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to your baby. In fact, he'll gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as he plumps up in preparation for birth."

Little look at Trevin...

This morning we went and did a 3D/4D sonogram at Window in the Womb. It was so sweet to see him... of course he did decide to take a little nap right when we got there. We did not get really great pictures because he was looking down, but they are still sweet none the less. He sucked on his hands a lot and even gave us a little smile! Robyn and Bryan went with us- they were VIP all access. They even had very official badges of honor! All 10 fingers were there... could not see his feet because he liked to stick them way up in my ribs :-) Here are a few pics of our very special morning.

Sweet Surprise!

Michael and I went to this presentation this morning about a time share in hopes to win one of their "guaranteed" prizes. Turns out we did not win much and wasted 2 hours of our time, but we did not have high hopes to begin with so it was okay.

Then I went to pick up my check at the office where I worked these past few months- Mom's Best Friend. They had a little surprise party for me- it was sooooo sweet! I have really enjoyed working there, and they will be missed and my paycheck will be missed by my husband :-) Thanks girls for everything! Y'all are awesome! If you are in need of a nanny or a babysitter or want to be a nanny or professinal babysitter- check them out- they have my professional stamp of approval :-) www.momsbestfriend.com.

31 Weeks

"This week, your baby measures about 16 inches long. He weighs a little over 3 pounds and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy."

We saw a new Dr. yesterday in Scottsdale. She was great! We both really liked her. So now I have two scheduled appointments, one here and one there and I will cancel the one I do not need depending on if Michael's project is approved on the 24th. She said that I am measuring exactly at 31 weeks where I should be.

We found a great house and it is all set to go, well, assuming they officially accept our offer. We will know for sure by tomorrow. The plan is to move Saturday, September 1. So, a little less than three weeks left here in Texas. It always is a wakeup call to realize the plans you have for yourself don't match what the Lord has planned for us. I know this is a good thing! If my life thus far had been what I wanted it to be at a certain time- whoa! I would be in a totally different place, and not a good place at that. Praise God for his guidance, and we both feel the Lord wants us in Scottsdale. So, we shall see...

I've been tagged!

I have been tagged by the sweet Mrs. Corso, thanks Kim :-)!

The Rules:
1. Post the rules
2. List 8 random facts or habits about yourself.
3. If you are tagged, then you must Post the rules and list 8 random facts or habits about yourself.
4. After you post, tag 8 people and let them know they must read your blog for the rules.

Hmmmmm... let me think!

1. I have broken both my legs, not at the same time. The right one, I fractured in the first grade when I jumped off a swing. The left one, a much worse break, occured while attempting to land a front tuck in gymnastics when I was in the third grade. I had a cast most of my third grade year- it stunk literally and figuratively. A picture...

2. I grew up on a lake in Missouri. I learned to ski at the age of 6 and began skiing in the local annual ski show. At the age of about 12, I did some traveling shows and competitions, but stopped when we moved to Texas when I was 14. I mainly did what they call doubles acts- it is like cheerleading stunts on water with a male base. It was not that I was all that talented, it was just that I was small and I could be tossed around easily. I also climbed pyramids. Fun times, and some scary crash moments. A picture... and yes that pout face has been perfected!

3. When I was 5, my friend and I decided to cut eachothers hair. I had really long hair and ended up having to get a really short bowl cut at an attempt to fix it. A picture...

4. I was a reporter for my high school newspaper. It was great! We had off campus passes and could roam the halls without question.

5. I took tap, ballet, and jazz until I was in the 8th grade. I have always regreted quitting because I love to dance. I am not sure why I quit, but I guess I got tired of it at the time. A pic...

6. It has always been my dream to marry the man of my dreams and be a mom, and I am blessed to say that I have married that man and I am about to be a mommy.

7. I have always loved children and I knew I would work with them in some capacity. I was a Child Development major, and I have done a variety of jobs during and since college and they all involve little ones. I love their impressionable spirits and their innocence. To me, a child's laughter is the greatest sound on earth- a testiment of God's love for his children.

8. Waco is the farthest I have ever lived from home. Scottsdale will be an interesting and very new adventure for me and my new family :-)

Tag you're it... Keri, Micki, and Jen.

Weekend of weddings

Friday night we went to one of my high school friend's wedding. It was so fun to see some people that I had not seen in a while- especially my old youth minister who officiated the ceremony. Good times... Brad I can't believe you are married! The bride was beautiful- Brad you are a blessed man. Congrats to Brad and Amy Stroup! Here are some pics...

Saturday night we went to David and DeVonna's wedding. It was also a lot of fun to hang out with friends and celebrate such a special time of their lives. DeVonna was a gorgeous bride! We love you guys and wish you so much joy :-) Congrats to the new Keirsey's! Here are some pics...

30 Weeks! 10 more to go... 7 or 8 would be good :-)

This week...

"Your baby's a bit more than 15 1/2 inches long now, and he weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds him, but that volume will decrease as he gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. His eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after he's born, he'll keep his eyes closed for a good part of the day. When he does open them, he'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means he can only make out objects a few inches from his face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)"

A few suggestions: :-)
Please don't say to me that I look like I am having twins, that you were my size at full term, or that you think my Dr. got the due date wrong. It does not help- I know my tummy is big, and it is going to get bigger. No, I am not having twins, I am just short. You may have been my size at full term, but you are more than likely taller than I am, and my due date is correct- it has to be. Thank you :-) Love you!

30 weeks.
