Our Holiday Weekend

We had plans to take the boat to the Brazos River with some friends on Sat. We remained hopeful Friday evening until we woke up Sat. morning. We decided not to go to the river, but Michael and some buddies went out on Lake Lewisville for some wakeboarding early in the morning. I spent my Saturday with my sweet nieces and sister-in-law at this place called Kids Muze. It is an indoor play area. We had lunch there (more on that to follow), and it was lots of fun! Here are some pics of the precious girls...

Kylie is such a "rock" star!

Saturday night we went to church and then had dinner with our sweet friends Robyn and Bryan at a place called Life's a Beach. It was nice to spend some quality time with them!

Sunday morning we played with the kidos at church. We asked our friends, David and Devonna, to come over for dinner. That afternoon I started having really bad stomach pains and was worried something was wrong with the baby. I called my doc and he thought everything was okay since my pains were higher than my uterus. He said it must be something in my GI tract or heart burn. I was like this hurts to bad to be heart burn. D and D still came over, but I continued to get worse with... let me spare you the details, but I think I had food poisoning from the lunch I had at Kids Muze. I was hurting really bad. Not fun, not fun at all! I was not much fun that night, but my sweet husband took over dinner and did all the dishes while I layed on the floor in pain. He is a stud. I recovered slowly on Monday, and we went to my parents house for a late lunch.

That was our Memorial Day weekend. Many thanks to all those who have served and do serve our country!

I am thankful for the rain, but gosh I wish it would stop now! Enough rain!

20 Weeks- Half way there!

"Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom, and about 10 inches from head to heel. (For the first 20 weeks, we use measurements taken from the top of the baby's head to her bottom — known as the "crown to rump" measurement. After that, we use measurements from head to toe. This is because a baby's legs are curled up against his torso during the first half of pregnancy and are very hard to measure.)

A greasy white substance called vernix caseosa coats his entire body to protect his skin during its long submersion in amniotic fluid. (This slick coating also eases the journey down the birth canal.)

Your baby is swallowing more, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky substance that's the result of cell loss, digestive secretion, and swallowed amniotic fluid. This meconium will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first messy diaper (although a few babies pass it in utero or during delivery)."

My Sweet Husband

I really want to plant flowers outside our house, but since we are moving it is pretty pointless to spend too much time and money right now on our yard. Yesterday he bought me 2 big pots of pretty flowers to set out front. He is so sweet! Now hopefully I won't kill them because I DO NOT have a green thumb. Kudos to my sweet husband- that was so thoughtful! We have much to do upon our return from Scottdale, but... I think they do make the front look a tad bit nicer :-)! Thank you babe for all your hard work mowing, trimming, and all that stuff you do in the yard that I don't know how to do ;-)

Here is our sweet baby boy! The pics are hard to see, but none the less, still very precious!

PINK OR BLUE?!

We went to the Dr. this morning. The Doc did an ultrasound and we were able to see our SWEET BABY BOY! He showed us so many little parts- his kidneys, his legs, hands, feet, arms, face, spine, heart, and of course his little you know what... it was so amazing! I just sat there smiling! He was kicking his little legs and moving all around. The intricate details of him being knitted together- wow our God is so incredible! The Doc said everything looks great. I am so excited... we are going to have a boy!!!! He also said there is pretty much no mistaken this one for a girl... and it was pretty easy to tell! I have not scanned it the picture yet, but I will as soon as I can get to a scanner. Much love!

19 Weeks!

What is going on this week?

"Your baby weighs about 8 1/2 ounces, and he measures 6 inches, head to bottom — about the length of a small zucchini. His arms and legs are in the right proportions to each other and the rest of his body now. His kidneys continue to make urine, and the hair on his scalp is sprouting. This is a crucial time for sensory development: Your baby's brain is designating specialized areas for smell, taste, hearing, vision, and touch. If your baby is a girl, she has an astonishing 6 million eggs in her ovaries. They'll dwindle to fewer than two million by the time she's born."

It is so amazing! I just love to read about what is going on inside of me... incredible!

Oh how I love the lake!

We had our first lake outing of the year a couple of weeks ago, but I am just now getting around to writing about it! It was a lot of fun! I had a hard time sitting in the boat and not doing anything- I wanted to surf or wakeboard sooooo bad, but that probably would not have been a good idea. So, I watched everyone else :-) The water was freezing, but it was not that bad once you got in and became numb, so I was told. We just love going to the lake, and it is a great love that we share. Being out on the water just makes me smile, always has. I grew up on a lake in Missouri and learned to ski when I was 7 and have been lovin it ever since. I have many wonderful childhood memories out on the lake. I love packing up lunch and hanging out on the water. It is great. We were going to sell the boat because we will use it less and less in the next few years until kids get older, but since we are moving to Scottsdale now, Michael would like to have it there. Fine with me :-)
